Why it All Began . . .
We are all familiar with what happened in September of 2001. As you can imagine, that shined a spotlight on the need for what Salamander provides, and it altered the way we operate as a business. Due to the attacks of September 11th, we were all introduced to the National Incident Management System, and the Incident Command System, and these are the foundations on which the Salamander solution is built. Since then, we have built the three pillars of INTELLIGENT ACCOUNTABILITY and now are the leader in our space.
FUN FACT:
In ancient times, philosophers such as Aristotle and Pliny the Elder believed that the salamander possessed mythical powers, which, not only allowed it to thrive in fire but extinguish it as well. At Salamander, we strive to provide intelligent solutions through the thick of it all.

Midwest Card was founded in January 1999 and provides integrated identification solutions to numerous vertical markets, including healthcare, first responders, and education. The Salamander accountability solutions are engineered, furnished, and installed by our trained staff, who are all certified through the Salamander Regional Technical Center (RTC) program. Midwest Card has earned the RTC designation in ten states throughout the central portion of the country. They continue to actively grow their footprint of state wide implementations with the goal of facilitating cross-state, mutual aid integration for those clients using the Salamander solutions.
